Isle Of Raasay Single Malt 70cl

This is the Isle of Raasay’s Flagship single malt scotch whisky. The spirit is lightly peated, balanced with rich dark fruit flavours. Two Isle of Raasay spirits – peated and unpeated – are matured separately in first fill Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks.

Generally considered to be F. Scott Fitzgerald’s finest novel, The Great Gatsby is a consummate summary of the “roaring twenties”, and a devastating expose of the ‘Jazz Age’. Through the narration of Nick Carraway, the reader is taken into the superficially glittering world of the mansions which lined the Long Island shore in the 1920s, to encounter Nick’s cousin Daisy, her brash but wealthy husband Tom Buchanan, Jay Gatsby and the mystery that surrounds him. The Great Gatsby is an undisputed classic of American literature from the period following the First World War and is one of the great novels of the twentieth century.

Cheese Biscuits – Traditional

Delicious cheese biscuits from the Isle of Mull featuring their award-winning cheese. Warning, these are moreish. One is never enough. Joe’s parents Chris & Jeff bought a derelict farm outside Tobermory in the early 1980s. Working tirelessly together with their four sons, they transformed the ruin into a busy dairy, now famous for its Gold World Cheese Award Winning Isle of Mull Cheese. The mature cheddar cheese is made from the raw milk of a single herd of lovely Friesian, Holstein and Brown Swiss cattle who are fed on lush grass and barley from the Tobermory Distillery, and has a distinctively zingy flavour. We have long hankered to make a savoury creation. With such fantastic artisan cheese being made right on our doorstep, it would have been crazy to have looked for inspiration any further from home. It’s gathered from a lamb’s first shearing, meaning the fibres are smoother, stronger and hold more elasticity than any other wool.
